Module 2 : Institutional framework and relationships

The focus will be on the institutional framework and the associated principles that guide the practice in a bid to demystify the ‘informal’ nature of the relationships within the agency and also amongst the actors in the waste and water sector.

Topics will include;
1. Understanding the water and waste governance and management structure in the
County and Local (City/Municipal) context, and how this relates to the informal sector
players
2. Understanding the dynamics that define the informal relationships between and
amongst the actors in the informal water and waste management practice
3. Sharing models and instruments that provide for better relationships between the
public agencies, the private sector, and the informal actors for improved governance and management.
