Learning Objectives
The objective is to outline the legal, policy and regulatory environment nationally and
globally that defines the operating environment for the actors (reference material)

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Have better insights of the legal, policy and regulatory framework governing the
sector and their implications on their operations
• Relate the framework to their operating environment.

Using PowerPoint to expound on module topics: Primary focus on the legal, regulatory and policy context that governs sustainable water and waste management in Kenya, with emphasis on how this applies to the informal sector.
1. National legal, policy and regulatory environment and how this applies to the local
context
2. County domestication of legal and regulatory instruments and related strategies in the water and waste management
3. Global and regional alignments and their implications on local action, e.g., SDGs,
Africa Agenda 2063, Sendai Framework etc.
